I’m Kurt, the founder of Leads By Me. I’ve spent more than 20 years running demand generation and revenue marketing programs for B2B and B2C companies, and in 2023 I started Leads By Me to focus on the part of that work I care about most: building outbound systems that actually produce qualified conversations, not just activity.

A quick note, since the name comes up: I’m Kurt Warner the B2B outbound marketer from Burlington, Ontario, not Kurt Warner the former NFL quarterback.

Before Leads By Me, I spent most of my career inside other people’s growth problems — scaling a national sales organization, running multi-channel campaigns against real budgets, and later helping smaller companies build the systems that a marketing team of one has to run alone. That last part is where Leads By Me comes from. I kept seeing the same gap: good businesses with a real offer, no shortage of effort, and no repeatable way to start conversations with the right people. Outbound done well closes that gap. Done badly, it’s just noise.

What’s different about how I run it now is that I build a lot of my own tooling. I taught myself to use AI coding tools — Claude Code and OpenAI Codex among them — to build the infrastructure that runs Leads By Me day to day. That includes PipelineIQ, the lead scoring system I built myself to prioritize targeting instead of guessing from title filters, and two internal AI agents I built and named Claire and Marcus, which monitor live client campaigns, flag anomalies, and generate weekly optimization recommendations without someone having to babysit every account by hand.

What I believe about outbound

Most outbound fails for boring reasons: the list is wrong, the message is generic because it’s trying to speak to too many people at once, or nobody is watching reply rates closely enough to know what to fix. I run every campaign against a repeatable six-step framework — ICP development, messaging, multi-channel activation, deliverability, reply handling, and continuous optimization — and I measure it against real benchmarks, not vibes. Positive reply rate is the number I watch most closely, because it’s the earliest honest signal that targeting and message are actually working together.

I don’t believe in locking a client into one channel because it’s the one an agency happens to sell. LinkedIn, cold email, or a mix of both should be a decision made from the buyer and the offer, not from what’s easiest to automate.

PipelineIQ is the lead scoring and pipeline intelligence system behind Leads By Me’s targeting. I built it myself using AI development tools rather than buying an off-the-shelf scoring product, specifically so it could be tuned to how we actually qualify accounts — not a generic firmographic filter.
